SPRING. A golden haze o'erspreads the scene,/ And mingles with the verdent [sic] green,/ Where spring with wild and frolic play/ Greets the fresh balm of opening Day./ Temple and Rock and Stream and Bower,/ Lie bath'd in morning's dewy hour;/ No echoes wake, no busy hum,/ Nor strife from distant cities come;/ But plaintive on the list'ning ear/ Break murm'ring falls of water near. [P. 12.]
