Sketch painted in London by R. Peale. Mr. Perkins is celebrated for the discovery of the compressibility of water and the variety of his inventions--and has recommenced his operations with the steam gun, which were suspended in consequence of a disagreement between him and his associates, which is now compromised. [P. 15.]
