Among the curiosities herewith exhibited, the following specimens are worthy of peculiar attention, viz.: A Bass-Relief [sic] very ancient and rare, representing the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The author is unknown; but the perfection of this wonderful work reminds us of the masterpieces of Benvenuto Cellini. Having been slightly damaged by the injuries, no artist in Italy had the courage to undertake to repair it.
