For the information of those who are unacquainted with the progress of Mr. Street in his profession, it will be seen by reference to the catalogues of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, that the "Wood Gatherer," (a life size figure, by this artist,) was exhibited in the year 1815, and attracted sufficient attention to warrant a second exhibition in the year 1817, (See Nos. 122 and 91.) This picture, now belonging to Robert Ewing, Esq., was painted in 1812, in the artist's 16th year. [P. 15; excerpted from the artist's biography following the catalogue.]
