One of the bravest among the brave which have honored the uniform of the army of the United States. He entered the army during the war of 1812, was actively employed in all our subsequent wars, was Colonel of the Fourth Artillery at the commencement of the Mexican war, and at its conclusion loaded with honors, and breveted as Major General, he came to Buffalo to spend the short remainder of his eventful life. He died in 1853. [P. 5.]
