"Unknown. Painting. - allegorical. 47 x 31. The above four allegorical pictures would seem to have been preparatory studies, for larger and mor important works, by the same artist. There is some good painting in them." (serial 04120416 through 04120419 were the four pictures to which this commentary referred)
