"The harbor of Venice. 41 x 29. This view is from the public garden, the extreme eastern point of the city. In the background are the domes of St. Mark, then the entrance to the Grand Canal, on the left point of which are the custom house and the church of the salute. On the extreme left are the fortifications and the church of St. George." (see serial 04120256 for commentary on artist)
