"(Germ.) Munich. Portrait of a monk. 24 x 29. The venerable friar here portrayed looks as though reflecting how much mirth- provoking liquid had, one time or another, been poured out of the flagon in his hand. Kraemer is quite at home in this kind of subject, which he treats with geniality, skill and true artistic feeling. This canvas is painted with decision and force."
