Among those from the German school was a candlelight effect. A young girl, standing near an open door, through which she is about to pass, holding a lighted candle, which she shades with her hand, throwing the reflection full upon her face--one of those sweet faces, beaming with the love of home and friends, which seems almost to speak the words "Good night."
