Oliver Wolcott was born in Litchfield, Conn., January 11th, 1760. His father, Oliver Wolcott, was governor of Connecticut, as was likewise his grandfather, Roger Wolcott. . . . He died in New York, June 1st, 1833, in the 74th year of his age. . . . This portrait was taken by Stuart, and was presented to the College by Col. George Gibbs, son-in-law of Gov. Wolcott.
