To an old resident of California, these views have a peculiar interest. All our natural celebrities are here, Shasta, Mariposa, Yosemite, etc.; and those whose spirit of adventure or appreciation for the beauties of nature has taken them still further north into the grand and imposing wild and Mountain passes, or through the lovely valleys of Oregon, will look again and again upon those charming spots, where amid the vicissitudes of an eventful life their happiest moments have possibly been passed.
