On one side is the altar, and the High Priest with the implements of sacrifice; on the other, the mother, sisters and bystanders weeping and holding the victim by one hand, while Jephthah pulls her towards the Altar with the other. There are seventeen figures, the principal of which is sixteen one half inches. On canvas, copied from Coypel; the subject Judges xi. [P. 8.]
