" In my own behalf I present to the association a portrait of Mr. Garnier which I wish, if possible, always kept in close vicinity to the said pictures, and these pictures I request may be called 'The Garnier Collection.' " Some years ago Mr. Garnier gave to the association a number of ancient coins. I now add to them a few more which if find among his private effects. " the set of German encyclopedia (12 volumes) which accompany the coins, please place upon the shelves of the library. I am, very respectfully, Mrs. Carolina Garnier."
