Elected member of the National Academy, New York, 1866, and elector to the directorship of the Yale School of Fine Arts (of Yale College, New Haven), 1869. In 1876 he was appointed judge of the Fine Arts at the Centennial Exposition at Philadelphia, and prepared the official report of the same. member of the Artists' Fund Society." [P. LI.]
