"b. Boston, Mass., 1850. Studied in the Boston Museum of fine Arts, under Otto Grundmann and Dr. William rimmer, 1877-1878, and in Paris under W.A. Bouguereau and Tony Robert Fleury, 1881-1882. First exhibited at the Salon, Paris. Member of Boston Art Club, the Boston Paint and Clay Club, and the Boston water Color Society." [P. 85; illustration depicts four young girls kneeling at prayer inside a church. Light streams through the stained glass window in the backgound, illuminating the interior. In the lower right hand corner is a signature and the date "1885")
