"See no. 23. A study of several children fishing from a boat, in a quiet stream shaded by tall trees along its banks. The boat is near the shore - bordered by reeds and tall grasses, and these form an effective background for the figures. There is a pretty sentiment in the picture, which is not 'finished,' at the expense of any strength or truthfulness to nature." [P. 82; see serial 03860023 for commentary on artist.]
