Afterward pupil of Edouard Frere, Ecouen, France, 1867 and 1869; Academy at Antwerp, 1868; in Rome, 1869-1870; in northern Spain, 1874-1875. Lecturer on anatomy in the schools of the National Academy of Design. Member of the American Water-Color Society, the Salmagundi Sketch Club, and the American Art Union.
