"N.A., (see no. 343.) can you not see the clouds moving and feel the wind blowing in Wyant's larger picture. and what a sky and what a landscape, with its quiet pool in the foreground. there is no human element in the picture, and yet we do not miss it; the landscape and the circumstances are enough. But this is more than a mere portrait of a locality, and more than a mere statement of fact, in the most eloquent language of art the painter conveys to us the impression that nature conveyed to him. - Louisville Spectator."
