"A.N.A., New York. b. Deerfield, Mass., 1822. Pupil of H.K. Brown at Albany, N.Y., for a short time, and also studied in the Boston Art Association. Lived in New York twelve years, and then spent a year abroad. between 1860 and 1876 lived and painted in various cities in this country; for a time in Louisville. Went to and settled in Boston in 1878; later in New York." [P. 52-53.]
