"The Cingalese Pearl Diver is a man of exquisitely moulded limbs and body, small head, delicate features, low forehead, long hair and beardless face. His life is one of peril. And many a poor searcher after the precious pearl, finds his bed-slumber on the very rocks which have nursed the glittering gem." [P. 16; exhibited under heading: "Statuary."]
