This portrait was painted by George Hite, of Morrisiana, N.Y., an old Kentuckian, who is renowned as a water-color and miniature artist. The sheet of ivory was exhibited in the Indian collection at the first World's Exposition in the Crystal Palace at London, and is said to be the largest piece in the world. [P. 21.]
