A group of nine figures of about one third the natural size. It is an original, on canvas, known to be by Solimeni, but the subject is not certainly known. It is believed, however, to be taken from Ecclesiastical History, and to be the story of a young woman accusing a young man, before a Bishop, who is sitting in judgment on him, and raises a person from the dead to be a witness. [Pp. 6-7.]
Catalogue of Valuable Oil Paintings, many of them by the Old Masters, and all Choice Pictures, being the Collection of the late President Jefferson. To be sold at auction, on Friday, July 19, at Mr. Harding's Gallery, School St. Sale to Commence at 10 o'clock. J.L. Cunningham, Auctioneer.
