"Two miniatures, and one crayon drawing. The lady portrait is sweet and natural; the head full of feeling, the flesh well rounded, the color pleasing. In the crayon drawing, the heads are very fine; and if the artist will purse this line, success is certain. Silver medal." [P. 36; serials 03630111 and 03630112 collectively index this commentary.]
