Much time and labor had evidently been bestowed upon this collection. Among them, were two landscapes of considerable merit; also a portrait of an aged person, excellent in drawing and expression, and very good as to color. The head of the gentleman in the large picture, is a good likeness, and well painted. [Pp. 89-90.]
