(After Claude Lorraine,) De Grailly. A clump of trees rises near the centre, and beyond a castle, from which two women are advancing to a watering place, where a herd of cows and goats are drinking, followed by a herdsman; near by is a group of men and women making a dog dance; on the right a river flows in gentle cascades, with a hill rising above it with a mansion; a prominent cliff, illuminated by the setting sun, and mountains in the distance terminate the view. The whole scene is suffused with the glow of a summer evening. Copied from the original picture in the Louvre. [P. 8.]
