Exhibition Catalogs
Date:
1876
Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. 8
On the right of the road, stands the cottage and enclosure, with a large oak tree in front; near it is seated a man with his dog, tending three cows, which are standing in a run of water; on the left, a piece of rising ground and a cluster of light trees; the road winds off in the distance across a meadow, and is lost in a skirt of woods. George Vincent died in London about four years ago. He was a favourite painter of English landscapes, studying and copying nature closely. Since his death his pictures have risen in value, and from their scarcity are now difficult to obtain. [P. 6.]
