A rocky shore, with an old woman and a squalid child, receiving a purse from a lady of rank, who also has a child, a perfect contrast in appearance to the other; the lady is attended by a cavalier, a young woman, and a page. They wear the picturesque costume of the French in the middle of the 17th century. [P. 6.]
