By CHRISTOPHER SCHWARTS, a German Historical Painter, born at Ingolstadt in 1550, and died in 1594, aged 44; he learned the art of painting in his own country, but finished his studies at Venice, where he not only made the works of Titian, his model, but had the advantage also of receiving some instructions from that illustrious Master.
