By JACOB JORDAENS, a celebrated Dutch Historical Painter, born at Antwerp in 1594, and died in 1678, aged 84; he was a disciple of Adam Van Oort, but he was indebted to Rubens for the principal part of his knowledge in the art of painting; and by some authors it is asserted, that he was admitted into the School of Rubens, and became one of his most famous disciples.
