By MELEHIER ROOS, a celebrated German Landscape Painter, born at Frankfort, in 1655, and died in 1705, aged 50; he was the second son of John Hendrick Roos, and from his infancy shewed an extraordinary genius to paint. His genuine works are as much admired at this day as they have ever been, and produce very high prices; and justify one observation, which is, that what is truly excellent, will always be truly valuable.
