By L. CARACCI, (Ludivico) an Historical, Landscape and Portrait Painter, born at Bologna in 1555, and died in 1619, aged 64; he was at first a disciple of Prospero Fontano, but afterwards studied the works of Teleau, Tintoretto and Paolo Veronese at Venice, and Corregio at Parma. Ludovico was great in Landscapes as well as Figures. [P. 6.]
