From Domenichino, on canvas. The original is in the collection of the king of France. The principle figure is twenty-two inches. The head is upraised, the Saint sees the Heavens open, and expands his arms towards the glorious light. He is supported by angels. The group is no longer ascending, but in a state of rest, to give him time to contemplate the scene. See second Manuel du Museum 778. [P. 6.]
