The coloring of this picture is exceedingly tender and delicate, with a beautiful pearly tint in the carnation. The Duchess, a very beautiful woman, her waiting woman, and a black foot boy, engaged in the vain attempt of washing a Blackamoor white, &c. Painted by Chevalier Carlo Vanloo, who was born at Nice, 1705, died 1765. [P. 12.]
