"A very old and curious work of the German school, with all the minutia of finish possible. In the foreground will be seen moses and aaron, &c., with the tables - fine venerable figures; satan and death, &c. Painted by Albert Durer, who was born at Nuremburg 1471, died 1528." [P. 4.]
