"As I walked through the wilderness of this world, I lighted on a certain place where was a den, and laid me down in that place to sleep: and as I slept, I dreamed a dream." [P. 5.] " The first scene represents John Bunyan dreaming, in the midst of a misty circle of light clouds, and is remarkably well executed. The repose of the sleeper, as well as the accessories, are represented with a marked fidelity to nature." [p. 30; excerpt from review from the "Evening Post, November 12."]
