Ideally, the daughter of a German Baron of the fourteenth century, in the chapel of her father's castle on the Rhine, perusing an illumination. In fact, it is the portrait of Eleanor, daughter of the present Duke of Newcastle, who sat expressly for the picture. [P. 4.]
