"Landscape, figures, and architecture are combined in this work, which is the finest painting of this portion of the metropolis ever produced. It has not been seen by the public for several years, although the engraving of it almost everywhere is known. This was executed on steel for Appleton's 'Pictorial America,' by permission of the artist, and was subsequently copied and produced by the London graphic about two years since, without permission."
