The two pictures here by this celebrated French painter differ widely in subject, while each is a masterpiece of its kind. "At Prayer" is one of those life-like, characteristic scenes of Eastern customs, which have so often employed Gerome's pencil. Every detail of costume and locality is carefully represented. [P. 9.]
