Mrs. N.W. Cole, of Sacramento, displays considerable Proficiency in several crayon drawings. One of these, called "The Madonna and Child," is so accurately and closely copied after the original engraving that it has been mistaken by some incompetent critics for a lithograph. The head of the child in the picture is certainly well drawn. [P. 218.]
