Miss Maria R. Bingay, of Sacramento, aged eleven years, exhibits a sketchy water-color painting, which, all things considered, reflects credit upon her preceptress, Mrs. Clement. The face, with Spanish hat and plume, so jauntily posed, makes an interesting picture. [P. 219.]
