Best drawing in Crayon.--To G.H. Baker, Sacramento--first premium subject--"Robbing the Bird's Nest." In this original design, the artist has, with a bold and free handling of his pencil, produced a fine effect, with apparently little labor. The execution is free from stiffness, and the distance is finely graded. [P. 213; entries 02620059, 02620060, 02620061, and 02620062 were exhibited together as: "Crayon sketches."]
