In chromo-lithography, a picture exhibited by John Gast is of such unusual excellence that we would draw particular attention to it. It is a marine view--all sea, with a lowdown sun and burning clouds while a ship in the foreground is outlined against the luminous heavens, the sails swelling in the gale as she rides over the billows. It is full of spirit, and the color is of great naturalness. [P. 84.] Chromo-Lithography.--The committee recommend honorable mention to John Gast, St. Louis. [P. 89; exhibited under heading: "DRAWINGS, ENGRAVINGS, ETC."]
