"Coming Through the Rye," a very animated picture, but somewhat gaudily colored. The subject is a fair peasant girl, coming through the field "white unto harvest," followed by laborers. One is close behind, carrying a rake, and is bending forward, doubtless courting in rude fashion, while the girl half laughingly turns her head partly towards him. [Pp. 78-79.]
