Scenes on the Meramee, (painting)

Exhibition Catalogs
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. [not numbered]
For the best and largest collection of oil paintings by one exhibitor, C. Bent Carr., of St. Louis, received the second premium, $50. [P. 99.] In the same collection were two pictures, one of "Morning" and the other of "Evening," both worthy of inspection, and exhibiting the same correctness of coloring and completeness of execution. Also, two small pictures of scenes on the Meramee--very pleasant little paintings. It is needless to tell a citizen of St. Louis that all of the above named paintings, though entered by Mr. Carr, were from the studio of Meeker, certainly one of the best landscape painters in the city, and, indeed, we might say in the country. [P. 104; see entries 02550064 and 02550065 for other works noted in this commentary, and entry 02550062 for related commentary.]
