Notes:
Appears in exhibition catalog as entry no. [not numbered]
"The Wood Gatherers," by Declow, a pleasant little cabinet painting of no especial merit as to execution, but attractive in grouping and disposition of subject. It represents two children carrying faggots of wood through the frozen snow. The sky is well painted, but there are pink and blue tints in the snow, which we have yet to see in nature. [Pp. 106-107; see entry 02550044 for related commentary.]
