For the best Basso Relievo, in clay, terra cotta, or wax, original, P.G. Perran, of St. Louis, was awarded the first premium, a diploma and $10. This gentleman's execution is bold and vigorous, and he certainly evinces considerable genius for sculpture. [P. 97.]
