For the best Statue, in marble, clay, or plaster, original, of life size. Muldoon, Bullett & co., Olive street, between Eleventh and Twelfth, St. Louis, were decreed the first premium, a diploma and $50. Pickel and Bros., No. 1008 Eleventh Street, St. Louis, were given the second premium, a large silver medal. These statues were looked upon with much interest, and were well worthy the attention bestowed upon them. Their finish was artistic, and the drapery enveloping the one which obtained the second prize was extremely good. [P. 96; see entry 02550002 for other work noted in this commentary.]
