Upon the "Landscape Scenes," by the same artist, of the Mississippi River--how naturally the water rises here and there, hurries around in dark circles, and then surges on in ceaseless order toward the vast ocean. [P. 80.] The first premium for landscape in Oil was obtained by Mr. Hope of New York city; the second to Julius Kummer, of St. Louis, Missouri.
