Crayon or Chalk Drawing.--In this beautiful subdivision of drawing there were nine entries. The first premium, Diploma and ten dollars, was awarded to CHARLES CHARROPIN, of the St. Louis University, and the second premium to MISS JULIET MASSIE, Boonville, Mo. Both of the premium drawings were superb--one representing a mother and child, and the other a lady, in half dishabille, holding a glass in her hand. [P. 131; see entry 02510197 for other work noted in this commentary. The word "dishabille" appears in italics in the catalogue.]
