Landscape, water colors.--To the painting of James S. Brown was awarded the premium, Diploma and ten dollars; and the same gentleman was awarded the premium for Marine Painting, in water colors.--The Marine painting was beautiful, and had an appellation which fully and happily expressed it--"Trolling in Shrewsbury Inlet." He likewise obtained the premium, Diploma and twenty dollars, for Composition in water colors. [P. 130; see entries 02510183 and 02510184 for other works noted in this commentary.]
